Welfare

School Welfare Officer - Mrs Carly Lopez

If your child has a care plan, please send in the latest plan you have to office@bwi.org.uk, we will then contact you to go through this with you.

All prescribed medication including creams and lip balms will need a ‘Consent Form’, which is available at the bottom of this page, and emailed to me along with a photo/letter of the prescription. No medication, unless lifesaving or prescribed, will be given unless we have permission from parents/carers first.

If your child has an accident at school, this will be recorded on our school system and you will receive a Class Dojo message for your own records.

If your child is unwell and won't be attending school/nursery, please ensure you call the absence line (01895 633520) by 8.30am each day to inform the school and give the reason for the absence.

It is our policy to follow the guidelines set out by the NHS for all illness.  You can find more information about illnesses here: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/

Winter and Spring

Please ensure that your child brings a coat to school every day. Please put your child’s name on the items of clothing, including gloves, hats and scarves.

Summer/Hayfever
As we come into Spring, we know that a number of children need antihistamines. We ask that you give this to your child before school, but if they need it before they come home with you, please ensure you have sent the relevant medication into school and have completed a consent form.  Consent forms should be handed to the School Office or emailed to office@bwi.org.uk

Summer hats are encouraged in warm weather and if your child needs to wear sunglasses due to hayfever then they can, but the school will not take responsibility for loss. Suncream needs to be applied before school, we are not able to apply this in school.
